Annual Christmas Cantata Scheduled for This Sunday

This Sunday, more than 40 singers from various churches around the community will perform at the Knox United Methodist Church as a part of the annual Community Christmas Cantata.

Christmas Cantata Set for Sunday

 
 
The annual community Christmas Cantata at the Knox United Methodist Church on Sunday, Dec. 8 with performances at 2 p.m. and at 6 p.m. CT.

This year’s Cantata, “The Winter Rose”, is under the direction of Jim Oliverius, assisted by Brian Lietchy and Nan Folkers.

This year’s Cantata will be a complete unique music experience that will warm your heart for the Christmas season. Admission is free, but a free will offering will be taken.

The 2011 Community Choir gets ready to sing in the annual Christmas Cantata

The 15th Annual Christmas Cantata will be presented by the Community Choir tomorrow with two performances at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Knox United Methodist Church.

The 50-member group will present “All is Calm, All is Bright” and Choir member Ken Whiles tells us what kind of music we can expect to enjoy.

Community Choir To Present Christmas Cantata Sunday

The Community Choir will present the 15th Annual Christmas Cantata this Sunday, Dec. 9 with two performances at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Knox United Methodist Church.

Choir member Ken Whiles tells us what kind of music we can expect to enjoy.

“Most of them are new songs, but there are two or three of them that do include some familiar songs,” said Ken Whiles. “They’re primarily new songs that fit into the theme of Christmas.”

Annual Christmas Cantata Held Sunday

The Community Choir gets ready to sing in the annual Christmas Cantata

The 52 members of the Community Choir performed twice yesterday at the Knox United Methodist Church. It was the 14th season for the annual Christmas Cantata and was performed and dedicated to the memory of Jim Keen, who sang in the choir for 10 years before his untimely death earlier in the year.

Because of illness, Director Jim Oliverius was replaced by Nan Folkers and Brian Liechty.

Cantata Practices to Begin Sunday

Practices for the annual Christmas Cantata will begin on Sunday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the Knox United Methodist Church. This will be the 14th annual Community Choir production.

You are invited to be a part of this year’s Cantata. Members range in age from teens to seniors. Practice will be held on Sundays. Two performances of the Cantata will be held on December 11th. Call Jim Oliverius at 772-3609 with any questions you may have about the Cantata.
