Mother and Son, Father and Son Arrested for Drug Dealing by LaPorte County Police

A mother and son and a father and son were all arrested this week, in a pair of investigations by the LaPorte County Drug Task Force. Police say Michelle Burgess, 46, of LaPorte, and Kolin Burgess, 20, of Kouts, were taken into custody, following an investigation on the distribution of heroin and meth in the City of LaPorte. Both face Level 5 felony charges of dealing in methamphetamine, while Michelle Burgess is also accused of the Level 5 felony of dealing in a narcotic drug.

Police Respond to Possible Burglary, Reportedly Find Meth, Pills Instead

A report of a possible burglary reportedly led to the discovery of methamphetamine Sunday morning.

Starke County Police say they, along with Hamlet and Walkerton police, responded to a possible burglary in progress call at around 6:30 a.m. Officers say that when they got there, they determined that no burglary took place, but they did find methamphetamine, prescription pills, syringes, and paraphernalia.

Former Night Manager at Knox McDonald’s Arrested for Reportedly Dealing Meth at Work

A former night manager at the McDonald’s in Knox has been arrested after police reportedly discovered that she was dealing methamphetamine while at work.

According to Knox City Police Chief Harold Smith, authorities conducted a 2-month investigation after receiving reports that night manager, 52-year-old Sandra “Sandy” Henry, was apparently selling drugs while working at the fast-food restaurant.

Two Arrested after Traffic Stop in North Judson

Two people were arrested after a traffic stop in North Judson on Wednesday evening.

According to police, North Judson Chief Deputy Frank Thomas initiated a traffic stop after the driver was reportedly recognized by the officer as a person with known arrest warrants. The driver did not stop and allegedly made erratic movements and crossed over the fog line. The driver did pull over about a half of a mile down the road.

One Arrested after Vehicle Pursuit in Pulaski County

 

A Westville, Indiana man was arrested late Sunday night after leading Pulaski County sheriff’s deputies on a pursuit that ended in Fulton County.

Pulaski County Sheriff Jeff Richwine told WKVI News that 32-year-old Johnny Mullens was on a resident’s property when shots were heard. As Pulaski County officers responded, they found Mullens driving in the vehicle that was described as the one being at the residence on 400 East in Winamac.

Five Arrested on Drug-Related Charges, after Police Reportedly Find Meth in North Judson Home

 

Five people were arrested on drug-related charges Tuesday afternoon, after police say they found methamphetamine while serving a warrant in North Judson. Shortly after 3:00, officers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office and North Judson Police Department went to a home in the 300 block of High Street to serve a warrant for failure to appear, according to Sheriff Bill Dulin.

Earl Beem Jr. Sentenced to Two Amended Counts Following Guilty Pleas in Starke Circuit Court

On Monday, November 20th 35-year-old Earl Beem, Jr. appeared in Starke Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to two counts; Amended Count I: Conspiracy to Commit Dealing in Methamphetamine and Amended Count II: Conspiracy to Commit Trafficking with an Inmate.

The individuals who were also in court for the case were the defendant’s attorney Nathan Pearson, Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Mary Ryan, Honorable Judge Kim Hall, as well as the Deputy Sheriff and the Court Reporter. According to a plea and sentencing order provided by Court Reporter Delainah Hewlett, prior to the defendant’s plea, The Court discussed the specifics of the plea agreement and the defendant’s rights.
