A system allowing government officials to collect unpaid debt by intercepting state income tax refunds will be discussed during tonight’s Oregon-Davis School Board meeting. A memorandum of understanding for the Tax Refund Exchange and Compliance System will be presented for the board’s approval. A similar agreement was approved by the Eastern Pulaski School Board earlier this month.

Oregon-Davis School Board Accepts Donation for FFA and National Honor Society
A couple student organizations at Oregon-Davis Junior/Senior High School got a financial boost this week. Superintendent Dr. Don Harman says the school board accepted a donation from the Oregon-Davis Young Farmers organization. “That donation was $700 to the Oregon-Davis Junior/Senior High School FFA and another $700 to the Oregon-Davis Junior/Senior High School National Honor Society,” Harman says.
Oregon-Davis School Board Finalizes Plans for Jump Start Program, Accepts Donation
The Oregon-Davis School Board finalized staffing for the upcoming Jump Start program this week. The two-week summer school program starts Monday. It lets students in grades one through eight brush up on their skills before school officially starts August 9.
Hamlet Park Benefits from Starke Hospital Day of Service, Planned Haunted House
The Hamlet Town Park has gotten some upgrades, thanks to employees at Starke Hospital. As part of the hospital’s annual Day of Service Monday, employees volunteered their time to install two park benches near the new playground equipment, as well as new barbecue grills. Continue reading
O-D FFA Teams Perform Well in State Competition
The Oregon-Davis FFA Crops and Forestry teams competed Saturday in state competition at Purdue University. The Junior High and Senior Crops Teams went through various studies of crops, weed plants, seeds and grain grading for an overall score. Continue reading
