The 40th Annual Mint Festival gets underway tonight in North Judson. The opening ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. at Norwayne Field. It will be followed by the Bicentennial/Sesquicentennial Essay Contest at 5:15. Indiana is celebrating 200 years of statehood this year, and North Judson was founded 150 years ago.
The father and grandfather of the year awards will be presented this evening at 5:30 p.m. Bands High Noon and Hoosier Highway are scheduled to perform at the Norwayne Field stage this evening. The carnival will also be open in the Catholic church parking lot.
Look for Twist & Smile Balloons at the corner of Keller Avenue and Main Street tonight, and be sure to experience the Taste of North Judson on Lane Street and at Norwayne Field.
Festivities continue through Sunday.
