The Starke County Council discussed scheduling budget workshops during their meeting Monday.
The council plans to meet with office holders and department heads for a budget planning workshop in July before full negotiations start this fall. Starke County Council President Dave Pearman announced the workshop is planned for Monday, July 15 at 10:30 a.m. CT. Starke County Commission President Don Binkley was present at the council meeting and suggested the commissioner meeting scheduled that morning be moved to 9 a.m. CT to allow for more time.
It was then suggested by Council President Pearman the council hold their regularly scheduled meeting immediately following the budget workshop. The Starke County Commissioners will now meet at 9 a.m. CT Monday, July 15 with the council holding their budget workshop at 10:30 a.m. and will hold their regularly scheduled meeting immediately following in the ground floor meeting room of the Starke County Annex No. 1 building at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
