Knox Board of Public Works Hears Update from Police Department

The Knox Board of Public Works heard an update from the Knox City Police Department during their meeting last week.

Knox City Chief of Police Chad Dulin announced his department responded to 721 calls during the month of May. He informed the board, Brandon Pittman had put in his resignation on June 17. He went on to say, their staff is currently two officers short and are in the process of hiring. He stated they have eight applications that will be going through the necessary testing for comprehension and a physical on July 1, before moving forward with background checks.

Additionally, Dulin announced the department had $1,264 in repairs on vehicles. It was mentioned an oil filter, water pump, engine coolant and a battery change were needed on three separate vehicles within the department’s fleet.
