As previously reported on WKVI, Dr. Theresa Alexander will become the the new Starke County Health Officer on January 1st. She will be taking the place of long-time Health Officer, Dr. Walter Fritz, on that date.
Alexander appeared before the Starke County Commissioners last week to inform the Commissioners that she has researched the requirements for a County Health Officer online, and is agreeable with all of them. The only thing she wanted clarified is that she would not be going into the jail to examine inmates. Auditor, Michalene Houston, has sent a letter to the Indiana State Board of Health informing them of Dr. Alexander’s appointment and the Commissioners’ approval of that appointment.
