The 10th annual SCILL Center Auto Show is this Saturday, May 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CT at the facility in the Knox Industrial Park. There is a $15.00 registration fee and that includes a dash plaque.
The Auto Show will be held rain or shine. Music from the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s will be featured and food and soft drinks will be available. A 50/50 drawing will be held and door prizes will be awarded. Judging will be done in the following categories: Best Antique, Best Street Rod/Street Machine, Best Original, Best Custom, and Best Special Interest. There will be one 1st place trophy awarded in each category as well as one Best of Show trophy. SCILL Center Instructor, Rod Dawson, says another special event will take place during the Auto Show.
“We’re going to have a Pit Stop Competition,” said Dawson. “We’ll have area high school teams coming in and competing against each other for scholarship monies. That’s where we’ll have things as far as engine tear downs, tire rotation, firing orders and things that go along with a vocational program and things that they do out in the field working on vehicles.”
