The Starke County Commissioners have taken another step in providing Advanced Life Service to the County’s residents by signing a contract with IU Health Starke Hospital to be the sponsoring hospital. Also approved was a contract with a physician to be the Medical Director. That person will reportedly be Dr. Almuhannad Alfrhan.
Commissioner Kathy Norem, who has spearheaded the committee to upgrade the EMS to ALS status, brought the other two Commissioners up to date on the discussions with the hospital administration. Attending the Commissioners meeting was Hospital Administrator, Linda Satkoski.
The Commissioners are hoping the upgraded services will be available soon after the first of the year in 2012.
