When officials at the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation named Bill Ball as the Athletic Director, it left a Social Studies position to fill. Superintendent, Dr. Robert Klitzman says the Board approved two individuals to take over the classes Mr. Ball taught last school year.
“Larry Plummer, who is a retired Social Studies teacher from Royal Center and who has done a lot of subbing for us, has decided that he is going to come back and teach some of the case load,” said Dr Klitzman. “He’s got a vast amount of experience and he has the technology to bring in Social Studies concepts from around the world. He will be teaching Senior Social Studies.”
Other Social Studies classes will be taught by a Winamac High School alumnus who is returning home.
“We have Mrs. Sandy Dilts DeSabatine coming in and she is graduate of our school and she has been teaching out of state for several years and she has a couple years of teaching at the collegiate level. I think our students are going to benefit from the variety of experiences that these two teachers bring.”
To accomplish the filling of the positions, it was necessary to consolidate some of the classes but according to Dr. Klitzman, it will not change the course offerings. Mr. Plummer, and Mrs. DeSabatine will be teaching on temporary contracts.
