The wastewater project for the town of Winamac has rounded the halfway point, according to a representative from Commonwealth Engineers. The council gave permission for payment to be submitted for parts of the project, and surface paving on Riverside Drive has been completed. No complaints have been received regarding the project.
The council also approved a change order for the project to install additional catch basins and replace a manhole that had crumbled during construction. The remaining work is expected to be done in a timely manner because the work that remains is mainly related to storm water.
The town of Winamac has once again received the Water Fluoridation Quality award. This award is presented each year by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention through the U.S. Health Department, and Winamac has been earned this award for the last several years because of their consistent and safe levels of fluoride in the town water.
