This week is Homecoming week for Knox High School. It started off with the annual Ironman Volleyball tournament. Boys from each class played in several closely matched games. The Freshman nearly beat the Seniors, but ended up with third place by defeating the Juniors in the Consolation Match. The sophomores came in second after having been defeated by the seniors as they emerged victorious in the Best-of-Three Championship Round.
Tuesday evening was the annual girl’s powderpuff football tournament. The seniors defeated the sophomores with a final score of 16-0. Juniors defeated the freshman with a final score of 22-0, moving them to face the seniors in the championship round. The junior class were crowned the ultimate champions, as they defeated the seniors with a final score of 16-6.
Knox will be facing the Bremen Lions in the homecoming game this Friday. Homecoming court for this year is as follows: Shelby Gilbert, Tori Winebrenner and Taylor Quella from the senior class, Kelsey Bailey and Erica Pick from the junior class, Abigail Frazier and Kristine Binkley from the sophomore class, and Autumn Scott, Kazia Stacy, and Kourtney Wagner from the freshman class. The Queen candidates will be in the parade on Friday that starts at approximately 1:00 p.m. and the homecoming game will be held at the High School Football Field at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
