Lynn Johnson, the Superintendent of the North Judson-San Pierre School system, talked with WKVI News this week about the highlights of the most recent School Board meeting.
“We did put in a bus purchase notice,” said Mrs. Johnson. “We’re looking at the possibility of purchasing one 72 passenger bus, one special needs bus with a lift, and one multi-purpose bus. Depending on funding, we may purchase two out of the three. We just don’t know yet.”
“Our choir is going to New York City during Spring Break this year. It’s trip that they take about every three years. It’s an opportunity to see some of the sights in New York and visit some musical venues. The kids work really hard to raise money for that trip. It’s a wonderful experience.”
“We had the approval of our Elementary fundraisers for the current school year. One thing that we did do is add a fee of $100 to our auditorium use for a sound and light technician. That takes a little bit more time and effort and we do need our technicians to use the equipment because it’s so expensive.”
On another matter Johnson commended her staff for the support they have given to Starke United.
“I am very honored to be part of this staff. They always come through for our community, for our students and for people in need. They did a tremendous job of raising about $5,400 and that total is growing. The staff is wonderfully generous here.”
On Monday, we’ll hear from Dr. Steve Disney on the latest Oregon-Davis School Board meeting.
