After conducting interviews for the full-time EMT position, Culver EMS Director Chuck Dilts recommended hiring Kimberly Irsa to the town council at their recent meeting. Irsa has been with the Culver EMS since November 2010, and was previously an Advanced EMT in Pulaski County.
According to Dilts, Irsa’s “youth and positive, upbeat attitude brings a fresh outlook to the service.” Dilts hopes that she will be successful in recruiting young volunteers to the service through community service functions and other campaigns.
A hiring committee reviewed Irsa and one other applicant, and while they felt that both applicants met the requirements, Irsa was found to be a better fit “for the position, our service, and the Town of Culver,” according to Dilts.
The town council unanimously approved the recommendation. Irsa will be hired as a full-time EMT with a base pay of $12.50 per hour, and will be eligible for a $0.50 increase after 60 days.
