The Starke United/WKVI Radio Auction is two weeks from today.
Julie Dessauer, the Executive Director of Starke United, tells us about the event.
“The Radio Auction will be on WKVI K99.3 FM on Friday, December 2nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CT,” stated Dessauer. “Auction services will be donated by Osinski Auction Service and communications and space are donated by CenturyLink. It is at the CenturyLink warehouse which is on the corner of John and Pearl Streets. Our viewing times are Thursday, December 1st from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and then the auction starts at 10:00 a.m.”
We heard that there is a great selection of items on the auction this year.
“We have some rocking chairs that look great. There’s a brown one and a white one. We have a rocking bike. It’s a Harley rocking bicycle. We have plenty of Christmas baskets, dental baskets and some really neat items.”
She was asked if it’s too late to donate an item for the auction.
“We’re still accepting items. I’ve had a few others that have approached me recently that are still willing to donate. Call the office at 772-7506 and leave your name and phone number and that you have auction items and we’ll give you a call back and we’ll get that taken care of for you.”
We asked Julie about the campaign and where people can pick up auction lists.
“Our campaign is still in progress. We’re looking for businesses who are willing to do employee campaigns. I’ve got letters that are being sent out to businesses and individuals and brochures will be placed around the community along with the auction list. You can find the list on our website by clicking here.”
