Eastern Pulaski School Superintendent Dr. Robert Klitzman compiled data that compares the tax rates of the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation and schools in the area. He gave that report to the Board.
“The tax rate is really an Algebraic formula,” said Dr. Klitzman. “The money you need to operate is called the levy and to get that levy, you would have to multiply your tax rate by your assessed value. The very important variable is the assessed value. An area that has a high assessed value would have a low tax rate to get the same money to operate. So they fluctuate and they move depending on your assessed value. Eastern Pulaski is in the lower third of the schools in this particular area.”
