The Knox Center Township Fire Department held its Firemen’s Ball Saturday night.
Held at the Knox Community Center, the affair celebrated the first 100 years for the fire department that dates back to the time of Henry Schricker.
Knox Mayor Rick Chambers gave a plaque to Chief Ken Pfost that expressed the appreciation of the city for the firemen who selflessly devote their time without compensation in responding to fires here and throughout the county when called upon.
Four female volunteer firefighters throughout the county were also recognized, and many members of neighboring departments attended the event as well.
