The North Judson Town Board members approved the release of the third and final payment for the State Road 39 sewer separation project in the amount of $25,017. The Board also approved the release of the retainer money for $30,541. The retainer will be paid in full once the project has been cleared by the state.
Utility Superintendent Dan Anderson said that with the recent heavy rain, the equipment at the wastewater treatment plant processed some of the water, but hardly the amount the plant used to treat before the sewer separation project. Rain water from State Road 39 used to overflow the machines and made the treatment process a burden on the plant. With the project, the heavy burden of unnecessarily treating rain water will be lifted.
