Citizens of Knox and landowners affected by the Klockner Road Project in the Industrial Park will be brought up to date on the proposed work at a meeting Wednesday night to be held at the Henry F. Schricker Library in Knox.
According to Starke County Development Director Charles Weaver, the road was designed as a rural thoroughfare and was never meant to carry the truck traffic now using it.
“We want to divert all truck traffic that is now coming down Culver Road past the hospital, elementary, and middle schools, and library,” Weaver said. “The widening of Klockner will make it safer for all who travel on the road.”
The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT, with members of the Indiana Department of Transportation on hand to explain the project and answer questions.
