The West Central School Board voted Thursday to eliminate the Middle School Principal’s position. Superintendent Charles Mellon explains the reasoning behind the recommendation.
“Our student population continues to decline. We lost 30 students this year. Other than that, there’s so many more job, I guess, being placed on school that we also need to rearrange our support staff and that gave us an opportunity to do this as well,” said Superintendent Mellon.
Superintendent Mellon talks more about the Corporation’s future plans.
“We’re going to be investigating going back to the seven period day which requires less staff, possibly. There’s a lot of things in the works that we’re trying to put together and still service the students and the staff as well. This is the just beginning steps, so to speak.”
