The Indiana Farm Bureau celebrated it’s 93rd Anniversary on March 25th.
The Starke County Farm Bureau held it’s annual meeting last week, and we asked the Director of State Government Affairs, Bob Kraft, to give us an overview of farming. He talked first about the bright side.
“Prices are up, demand is up and appetites are up, plus there’s increasing demand worldwide for American products. That’s the good news.” Kraft said.
Kraft then took a look at the downside.
“On the negative side, there are increased calls for more regulations. There are greater environmental restraints and there is an attack, by some, on genetically modified food. It’s kind of a balance. But certainly I see things looking good for agriculture for the foreseeable future.”
