The staff at the Starke County Environmental Management office will be sending out Envrionmental Assessment bills by the end of this week.
The estimated $20 fee is the state’s effort to reduce waste to landfills. It also allows recycling sites in the county and the fee helps provide the county-wide Environment Day. This year’s Environment Day event is scheduled for June 15th and 16th. More information on that event will be released at a later date.
If you would like to pay the bill in person, you can go to the Starke County Environmental Office on 250 N., just off U.S. 35 north of Knox. The office hours are 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CT.
