The West Central School Board approved two teacher transfers at their meeting on Thursday and Superintendent Charles Mellon said it is the board’s hope that this action will lower the need to send out many Reduction in Force (RIF) notices to the staff.
“We had some vacancies due to some early retirements, but as these moves are being made, there is a domino effect,” explained Mr. Mellon. “We hope that once this action is over, that there will be very little riffing that will take place in the corporation. We were looking at maybe four or five different positions but we could be down to possibly one when all this domino effect ends here probably by the end of the next board meeting in the middle of April.”
