HealthLinc, Inc. hosted a Back to School Health and Wellness Fair yesterday afternoon at the Knox HealthLinc Clinic. Uninsured and underinsured children were able to receive immunizations and sports physicals for the start of the school year.
HealthLinc Site Manager, Angie Gardner talks about other activities during yesterday’s event.
“We’re giving away backpacks courtesy of MDWise, MHS and Anthem. They provided all of the backpacks and some school supplies. It was incredible to bring the community together and really put together a health fair centered around building a healthier community,” said Gardner.
There were other entities there that helped the general public as well.
“WorkOne is helping people to get some jobs, and the jujitsu group is here doing demonstrations about healthier living,” said Gardner. “Sandra Lee Studio of Dance did an demonstration also. We’re just really pulling the community together and building a healthier community which is what we need to do for Starke County.”
This was the third annual Back to School Health and Wellness Fair sponsored by HealthLinc.
