The Culver School Board discussed a number of action items at their regular meeting on Jan. 7 and appointed several members to various teams and responsibilities.
Board member James Wentzel made a motion to appoint Superintendent Brad Schuldt as the Title IX Coordinator – a motion that was seconded by board member Ken VanDePutte and passed unanimously. Every school or school district that receives federal funding is required to designate and adequately train at least one employee to coordinate the recipient’s Title IX responsibilities.
Wentzel also made a motion to retain and appoint extra-curricular treasurers and set their bonds. Karen Snyder will serve as extra-curricular treasurer for Culver Elementary School with a bond of $20,000; Joyce Hanselman at Culver Middle School with a bond of $20,000; and Suzanne Pugh at Culver High School with a $50,000 bond. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
The board also appointed board members Ed Behnke, Jack Jones, and President Ryan Sieber, as well as the three school principals Albert Hanselman, Julie Berndt, and Charles Kitchell and Superintendent Schuldt to the Negotiations Team. The team will meet with the Teachers Association in 2013 to discuss various matters.
Finally, Wentzel was appointed as legislative liaison for 2013.
