IU Health Starke Hospital has named a new interim president. Jared Beasley will take over next month for standing President David Hyatt, who is transferring to a new position at Jay County Hospital in Portland, Ind. Beasley has served as vice president of clinical and diagnostic services at IU Health LaPorte Hospital since last June. He previously worked as the emergency department director at partner IU Health Goshen Hospital for six years. Beasley earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Goshen College, a bachelor of science in economics and business administration from Manchester College and a master in business administration from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.

Beasley and Hyatt are working together to assure a smooth transition. Hyatt’s last day at IU Health Starke Hospital is April 19. Meanwhile, the hospital board and community advisory board are working together to develop a plan to establish long-term future leadership for the hospital. Beasley said in a news release, “IU Health is committed to Knox and the communities of the Starke County. I am humbled to be a part of furthering preeminent care to the area.”

Hyatt was recently named CEO of Jay County Hospital in Portland, Ind. “I’m excited to live closer to family as well as honored to work with an academic medical center,” Hyatt said. “I know IU Health Starke Hospital is poised for a successful future as quality and patient satisfaction data are higher than ever. Colleagues are well prepared to take the hospital to the next level.”
