A 30-year murder case has reportedly been solved with the arrest of an Indiana man in Louisiana.
Paul D. Stucker of Scottsburg, Ind. was taken into custody as a suspect in the murder of Johnny Hodge while they were both inmates in the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City. The incident reportedly occurred Oct. 19, 1983.
Hodge was serving a life sentence on a double-murder charge when he was murdered in his cell. Stucker was an inmate at the Michigan City Prison at the same time as Hodge when the murder occurred.
An investigation was conducted by investigators of the Indiana State Police Posts in Sellersburg and Versailles and information was gathered that led to the arrest of Stucker, 52. A warrant was issued out of LaPorte County for felony Murder by the U.S. Marshalls out of the New Orleans District office.
He was taken into custody in Gretna, La., Tuesday morning and awaits extradition back to Indiana.
