Senate Democratic Leader Tim Lanane and House Democratic Leader Scott Pelath sent a letter to Governor Mike Pence inquiring about a response to the state’s Healthy Indiana Plan waiver.
The pair explained to Governor Pence that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services sent a letter to his office regarding the failure to comply with the public notice component of the application to extend the Healthy Indiana Plan.
Governor Pence replied that the state is in full compliance with all transparency requirements set for by HHS and no error was recorded in the submission of the HIP waiver application. An advance copy of the renewed waiver application was sent in February. The actual waiver will be sent in April.
Governor Pence added that the Indiana General Assembly decided to see the Healthy Indiana Plan waiver application process through and that will be done.
