The Starke County Public Library announced the winners of their second Annual Amateur Youth Photo Contest during the month of March. Diantha Upham, program coordinator at the library, said the library would like to extend their heartfelt congratulations to each winner of the contest.
The contest offered three different categories of landscape, object, and people, and four grade groups ranging from K-12.
Elijah Griffith, grade group 1, took first prize in the landscape category with “Snow Like Wool”; Zachary Adamik in grade group 2 won the people category with “Gone Swingin’”; Hannah Griffith, grade group 3, beat out the competition in the object category with “Rose of Sharon”; Lindsey Brown in grade group 4 took home first prize in the object category with “Illusions in a Mirror”; and Lydia Griffith, part of grade group 2, also won first prize in the object category with “Lily Among Thorns.”
Brianna Korcha, also in grade group 2, won second prize in the object category with “You Don’t Know You’re Beautiful.”
Each winner will receive an award certificate, while all winners and participants in the contest will receive a free medium size pizza with up to three toppings from Pizza Hut of Knox. The library thanked Pizza Hut for their consideration of each young person who entered the contest, having extended their gift to all participants.
