The Eastern Pulaksi School Board accepted a resignation and a retirement request from two educators who happen to be married. Superintendent Dr. Robert Klitzman said Jan Moore had previously retired, but she was hired back on a part-time basis to teach math this school year.
“She has decided that this year is absolutely the last of it,” explained Klitzman. “She tried to retire last year and we twisted her arm and she came back. Another reason that she’s so firm that this is her last year is her husband, Brad Moore, is retiring.”
Brad Moore has spent the past 34 years at the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation with one year at another school. Klitzman says he’s been ahead of the curve when it comes to technology.
“He’s highly into technology. He teaches our CAD program which features our most sophisticated computers and he teaches ‘Project Lead the Way’ which is an engineering class based on technology. He has really embraced the changes that have come down the pike with technology and has been a leader – not only in our school but in the state in using technology the various former Industrial Arts programs,” Klitzman said.
Moore was also a coach and sponsor of the Supermileage team and the robotics team.
Klitzman added that both Jan Moore and Brad Moore will be missed at the school corporation and their replacements will be sought after this summer.
