DNR Go FishIN Coordinator Clint Kowalik encourages fishing enthusiasts to take advantage of the event and head out to the water, bring a friend, or take your family to a local city park pond.
Youth ages 17 and younger are exempt from purchasing a fishing license, but on May 18 and June 1-2, all Hoosiers do not need a fishing license or a trout/salmon stamp to fish public Hoosier waters.
For those who aren’t sure where to go to cast their line, you may not have to travel far; the new Go FishIN in the City program is providing educational events and quality fishing opportunities at several city park ponds across the state. You could also check out the amazing Where to Fish interactive map or view property information for other DNR properties.
