Veteran Reimbursement Requests Accepted for Insurance Exam

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is now accepting reimbursement requests from veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who successfully pass a licensing or certification exam administered by the Indiana Department of Insurance. Governor Mike Pence announced that veterans may have the cost of the exam, ranging from $75.50 to $399, reimbursed under the GI Bill.

Pence said that Hoosiers veterans have made tremendous sacrifices to protect our nation’s citizens and defend freedom, and by eliminating the cost of licensing exam fees to enter the insurance industry as an agent, broker or adjuster, the state can effectively remove barriers to their employment and help them be more successful.

Reimbursement requests must be filed with the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs on VA Form 22-0803, which is available on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website. Veterans may also contact Chet Pietras, deputy commissioner of licensing at the Indiana Department, at (317) 234-1138 for additional information.
