The Starke County Traffic Safety Partnership will be conducting sobriety checkpoints throughout the county in the next two weeks to deter impaired driving. Those patrolling during the enforcement will be on the lookout for drivers under the influence especially during the Labor Day holiday.
Officers will be participating in a high-visibility campaign to curb impaired and dangerous driving.
Officers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department and Knox, Hamlet and North Judson Police Departments remind you to plan a safe way home before you decide to drink. They suggest that you designate a sober driver, and if you see a drunk driver on the road contact your local police department.
