The Marshall County Commissioners heard a report from Older Adult Services Director Jackie Wright about the transportation grant.
Wright explained that they are applying for a transportation grant which will be the same amount they received in 2012. The grant will cover the costs in the transportation department.
The organization saw a $20,000 shortfall this year due to the sequester, but Wright told the commissioners that they are expecting to be fully funded next year. The commissioners earlier approved a $20,000 additional appropriation for the purposes of transportation for Older Adults Services.
Wright is expecting $141,000 in federal funding and $45,000 in state funding which is $21,000 more than what was received this year. It will be the same funding as in 2012.
The commissioners approved a resolution in order to allow Older Adult Services to move forward with filing the transportation grant. The application must be into the state by Aug. 30.
