The Winamac Town Board this week awarded the town’s street paving contract to Central Paving after the company submitted the lowest qualifying bid for the work. According to Town Manager Jim Conner, the board approved a contract from Central Paving for the town’s regular fall street paving at $38,878 after reviewing the three bids that were submitted.
While Central Paving’s was the lowest, two other companies submitted bids: Town and Country in Demotte bid $49,374.15 for the work, while E&B Paving from Rochester bid $55,500.
The fall paving cycle, Conner explained, usually takes place sometime toward the end of September or sometime in October, depending on the contractor’s schedule. He said the town will pave part of 12th Street, a section of Logan Street, Shady Lane, and Huddleston Road, among others.
