Alliance EMS will show its appreciation for the community this weekend during its Customer Appreciation Day on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. ET at the Broken Arrow Campground north of Winamac. According to Jay Podell, this annual event will be packed full of activities including a talent contest with cash prizes, free food, free games, a moon bounce, face painting, and a variety of other attractions as well.
Pam Chumley said previously that this is just one way the agency shows its appreciation for community members.
“We want to give back to the community. They’ve been so good to us. It’s something for families to do,” said Chumley.
The event is free for everybody, but vendors will be on hand offering face painting, temporary tattoos, cotton candy, snow cones, and other items. REACT will be present at the event, alongside Elmo and Big Bird, and the sheriff’s department will offer fingerprinting for children.
Free blood pressure checks will be given as well as glucose screenings, and an ambulance will be on hand if children would like to see inside an ambulance. The emergency personnel will be able to explain what purpose the ambulance serves and a Samaritan helicopter will also be at Broken Arrow Campground for visitors to check out, weather permitting, if it is not needed for an emergency.
WKVI will also be broadcasting live during the event!
If you would like to sign up to be a part of the talent contest, call Alliance EMS at (574) 946-7226.
