The Eastern Pulaski School Board did formally approve a recommendation to withdraw from the Midwest Athletic Conference. Eastern Pulaski now joins eight other schools in the area in making that decision.
Superintendent Dan Foster said the board found it a benefit after learning everyone’s consensus.
“Everybody that we had spoken to had been in favor of this including our coaches,” commented Foster. “An informal poll was taken with our student athletes and some of the folks that had talked with us out in the community have been very supportive of this. Mr. Defries our high school principal and Mr. Bill Ball our athletic director – not one of the three of us had received any negative feedback from the community.”
The board had a few questions for clarification, but approved the recommendation on a unanimous vote.
