The Starke County Planning Commission will hold a regular meeting and two public hearings on Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the county government building, located at 53 E. Mound St. in Knox. Amongst the agenda items is a public hearing to consider the approval of a proposed major subdivision to be known as “Almero,” consisting of 10 lots in North Bend Township, the petitioners and legal owners of which are Robert and Madalyn Michels.
A second public hearing will be held to consider the approval of the proposed amendment to the Code of Starke County, dated 1991, by replacing a section regarding the specifications for nonconforming use.
Other business to be discussed includes the commission’s fee schedule, ordinances regarding manufactured home installers and manufactured homes, and the election of a member to serve on the Knox City Plan Commission in an advisory capacity.
In addition, a violation will be discussed regarding the John Knight Estate in Walkerton.
The Starke County Board of Zoning Appeal may attend this meeting, which will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Starke County Annex Building.
