LaPorte, Pulaski and Starke County residents can being applying for the Energy Assistance Program on Monday, Nov. 4.
Pre-application packets were mailed to elderly, disabled and at-risk households in September that were approved in last year’s program. Packets are to be returned with the necessary paperwork to complete the application process. If you are scheduled for disconnection or services have already been disconnected, call and schedule an appointment for assistance.
Eligibility for energy assistance is limited to those households with a combined annual income at or below 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Pulaski County residents wanting to schedule an appointment should call Pulaski County Human Services at 1-877-946-4211 or (574) 946-6500. Starke County residents should call Community Services of Starke County at (574) 772-9036. LaPorte County residents are asked to call the North Central Community Action Agencies at (219) 872-0351 or 1-866-871-1200.
