A 16-year prison sentence was handed down to a 24-year-old Argos woman in Marshall Superior Court 1 on Thursday.
Senior Judge Walter Palmer sentenced Lacey Nicole Holzwart on a charge of selling LSD to a confidential informant in a controlled buy arrangement. Holzwart had pleaded guilty to the charge in a plea agreement with the state. Two years of that sentence was suspended.
Holzwart admitted in court that on Oct. 1, 2012 a confidential source went to her home in the 19000 block of Linden Road near Argos to purchase LSD. Police say 120 doses of LSD was purchased for $200.
She was eventually arrested in May of this year and in addition to the charge for which she was sentenced, she had accumulated an array of other charges including forgery, theft, possession of drugs, false informing, dealing in heroin and conspiracy to deal in heroin within 1,000 feet of a public park. All of those charges were dismissed as part of this plea agreement.
Prosecutor Nelson Chipman stated in a press release that the 16-year sentence reflects the numerous other allegations and illegal activities of Holzwart. “That is part of the give and take of plea negotiations,” he stated.
