A scam is reaching residents concerning a debit card.
An official at the First Farmers Bank and Trust branch told WKVI that an automated message from an unknown source will call random citizens telling them that First Farmers Bank and Trust bought Bank of Indiana and debit cards need to be reactivated with the new bank.
The official said that this is a scam and the North Judson Police Department has been notified. If you have given out your debit card and pin information, call the number on the back of your card immediately to take proactive measures.
The bank will never ask for your debit card information or your pin number as that information is already securely stored in a database at the bank.
Never give out personal information over the phone and do not give your debit card information to an untrusted source.
If you have any more questions, call your local First Farmers Bank and Trust facility.
