The West Central School Board heard a report from Elementary Principal Dan Zylstra about grading changes that will affect certain subjects areas.
Superintendent Charles Mellon said the changes have to do with the adoption of the Language Arts series.
“There was some discussion there on handwriting, penmanship and that type of thing where we kind of clarified, by definition, a little bit more of what that really entailed,” said Mellon.
Grades kindergarten through 4th grade changes to penmanship. Grades 1 and 2 will combine Reading and English into one Language Arts grade. Grade 5 will see Spelling, English and Reading combined into a Language Arts grade.
The board members approved the changes on a unanimous vote.
