The Pride of Plymouth marching band has advanced to the Indiana State School Music Association State Finals for High School Marching Bands. The state finals will be Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The Plymouth band will perform in Class B at 10:13 a.m. ET. They will be competing against Greenwood, Dekalb/Waterloo, Floyd Central/Floyds Knobs, Northview/Brazil, New Castle, Plainfield, Jasper, Concord/Elkhart, and Munster.
A total of 109 Open Class bands began their quest for a state title on Oct. 19 at one of four regional sites. Eighty bands, 20 in each enrollment category, continued to Semi-State performance on Oct. 26. Now 40 bands, 10 in each category, will be competing in Class A, B, C and D to represent the best in the state.
The sponsor of all ISSMA events, Indiana Dairy Farmers, annually award a $1,000 scholarship to a music student at each of the four state champion schools.
