An accident at U.S. 30 and Union Road in Marshall County at 2:30 a.m. Friday claimed the life of 29-year-old Christopher Lowder of Knox.
A police investigation found that Lowder walked into the westbound lanes on U.S. 30 and into the path of an oncoming semi driven by an Ohio man. Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger stated that Lowder was killed instantly. Toxicology results are pending and should be released sometime next week.
Cleavenger noted that Lowder was wearing dark clothing and it was misty at the time of the accident.
The incident remains under investigation with the Marshall County Coroner’s office, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police.
