The Knox Community School Board members approved school makeup days for the rest of the school year.
Superintendent A.J. Gappa said the board reviewed a memo released by the Department of Education regarding options on how to make up those days.
“Currently, we’ve missed seven days due to weather issues,” said Gappa. “We have received a wavier from the State for two of those days so that would leave us five. We were denied another waiver for the days of Jan. 27 and Jan. 28. We have three built-in snow days in our calendar this year. Those days are March 31, April 25 and April 28. We will be attending school on those days and we will also have to tack on two days at the end of the year. Those days will be May 30 and June 2. If we do have to miss because of weather in the future, we will most likely tack on a day at the end of the year.”
Graduation will not be affected as it is scheduled for Friday, June 6.
