A new building is being delivered to North Judson, and crews are eager to get started on constructing the new town maintenance building. Clerk-Treasurer Donna Henry said Mortons Buildings will start construction on the building in about a week and a half, and after the shell has been erected, Henry said the utility crew will install plumbing, electric and finish other work as well.
Town Superintendent Marshall Horstmann anticipates the work will be completed toward the end of April for the new town maintenance building, replacing the old town garage on George Street. Henry said the old garage was too small and was falling into disrepair deemed too costly to fix.
Last year, town officials gathered signatures from town residents as required to establish that the town was in need of this new garage. In December, ClearSpan – the company constructing the structure of the building – postponed the work due to a shortage of crew members. Crews had previously hoped to get started in December with construction.
