Two LaPorte County men were arrested on heroin charges Friday after a traffic stop in LaPorte County.
During the traffic stop, a K9 conducted an “outer free air sniff” of the vehicle and the dog alerted that drugs were in the vehicle. A search was conducted of the vehicle where more than 29 grams of heroin were located. As a result, Nicholas Albertson and his passenger Brian Wilkinson were arrested.
Albertson faces a preliminary charge of Aiding, Inducing or Causing an Offense as a Class C felony and Wilkinson has a preliminary charge of Possession of a Narcotic Drug as a Class C felony. Both are being held on a $15,000 bond in the LaPorte County Jail.
This case remains under investigation and additional arrests are anticipated.
