Knox City Police Chief Clint Norem gave the Knox Board of Public Works members an update on the conditional hire of the new officer for the department.
Eric Vanderhoff will be completing PERF testing in Indianapolis on June 5 as required and will undergo 40 hours of basic training. He will be able to purchase his uniform and vest through a clothing allowance. He will also be issued a department firearm. Norem said everything has gone smoothly with this process so far.
Vanderhoff was chosen from three candidates for the patrolman position on the Knox City Police force. Vanderhoff is from the Rochester area.
It was also noted that the police car that was up for sale on eBay sold for just over $2,000.
