The West Central School Board received information about The Crossing alternative school.
Superintendent Charles Mellon said Middle and High School Principal Don Street presented the information of the school which will involve Starke County students and possibly Eastern Pulaski and West Central schools.
“That’s in its beginning stages but we did make the board aware of an opportunity we have there for some of our people who have not graduated and are out in the community to return back to an alternative school situation and still receive that high school diploma,” commented Mellon.
All three Starke County schools, Knox, North Judson-San Pierre and Oregon-Davis, have signed contracts to start a school in the county. The Eastern Pulaski School Board also recently began talks of possibly joining the alternative school.
The West Central School Board did not make any decisions but it will be discussed in future meetings.
