Ancilla College will soon have a new president. This is Dr. Ron May’s last day. He’s retiring after eight years at the private, two-year school. He says Ancilla fills an important niche for students by giving them the foundation to either continue their education at a four-year institution like IU or Purdue or succeed in the workforce after they graduate.
May adds schools like Ancilla give students a chance to explore their personal strengths and weaknesses. He says students typically find direction during their first two years of college, and Ancilla faculty and staff offer lots of one-on-one attention to help students realize their full potential. He adds they’ve also worked hard during his tenure to build and strengthen relationship s in the community. May has served on the SCILL board, Culver Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and Plymouth Industrial Development Corporation Board. He’s also worked with Leadership Marshall County for a number of years.
Ancilla officials are still searching for May’s permanent successor. An interim president will serve until that person can be hired.
